Steel Building in Shawnee, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet supplied this steel building in Shawnee, Colorado, in December, 2013.  This steel building is used as a shop dedicated to building both hot rods and race cars.  It is located  about 5 miles from both Bailey and Grant. The owner of this Park County building selected several upgrades in order to make his building energy efficient and suitable to withstand the harsh snowy weather common in the Rocky Mountain region.

When buying a metal building to house equipment or vehicles, it is important to be sure to have one that is not only adequately sized (height, width and length), but to have access to the interior for the equipment or vehicles.  There are many different sizes of doors available to allow you to select one that will meet all of your needs.  The owner of this Nucor building designed his building to be 40’x60’x14’ with a roof pitch of 2:12.  In addition, entry doors of 12’x12’ and a walk door 3’x7’ were added to the building.

The wind speed of this building is 110 MPH and the ground snow load is 65 PSF, both adequately strong enough for the winter climate in the Rockies. The owner of this building added a highly energy efficient insulation package as well as a 2’ overhang on three of the four sides.
