Cold-Formed Prefabricated Steel Garage in Coalville, Utah

Metal Building Outlet sent the building kit for this cold-formed steel garage to a client in Coalville, Utah, in February 2024.

Engineered with Utah’s harsh winters and cold temperatures in mind, the building offers unmatched strength and durability, resulting in reliable protection for vehicles and other items stored inside. The metal garage’s cold-formed, lighter-gauge steel construction made the building easier to erect than other types, leading to lower construction expenses. It also features an attached, open-air metal lean-to and 2’ overhangs on all four sides that provide additional covered space for outdoor storage.

Inside the garage’s roof and walls are 6” of R-19 insulation with heavy-duty VRR+ facing, which slashes heating and cooling expenses while keeping stored vehicles at consistent temperatures, regardless of conditions outside. The steel building also has several 4’x3’ windows that allow sunlight to stream in, creating a bright, welcoming environment ideal for working on cars or tackling other projects.

Designed to meet the building code requirements in place in the area, the steel garage also features a 115-mph wind speed rating and a 62-psf snow load.
