Commercial Building Specifications & Customizations
Comprised of hardwearing, sustainable steel parts, the steel retail building is 58’4”x170’10”x20’/21’3” and has a clear span that eliminates the need for interior supports. It has high ceilings that create additional usable space, and overhead, it features a rugged, corrosion-resistant Galvalume single-slope TPO roof with a slight 0.25:12 pitch. An ideal roof type for commercial construction, TPO roofs resist punctures and tears and are flexible, Energy Star-compliant and fire-resistant.
The steel commercial building also features parapet walls, with a portion of the building’s exterior walls extending above the roof line. Metal building owners often opt for parapet walls because of the wind and fire resistance they provide. The building also has spandrel beams and special exterior deflection limits, which impact how much the building can bend or flex over its lifetime. This allows for the safe addition of stucco and brick, which enhance the retail building’s exterior appeal.
The steel commercial building also features several climate-related customizations that boost durability and comply with building codes currently in place in Arlington, among them a 3.5-psf roof snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating.
Durable, Customizable Steel Commercial Buildings

This particular steel retail building required the cooperation of Metal Building Outlet, the building’s architect and the building owner, and all three parties worked together to create a building that checked all the owner’s boxes and accommodated all business needs.
