Metal Building in Big Stone Gap, Virginia

Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered metal building for a customer in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, in March of 2015.

Now a garage, the durable, energy-efficient metal building is 30’x50’x10’ in size and covered overhead by a Galvalume roof with a 2:12 roof pitch. The steel building is crafted from premium Nucor Building Systems components and boasts (3) framed openings; (1) of which is 6’x7’ and (2) of which are 10’x8’ in size.

To maximize energy efficiency and interior comfort regardless of season, R-10 insulation was included in the metal garage’s roof and walls. With the Big Stone Gap area’s typical climate and weather patterns in mind, the building was engineered with a wind speed of 90 mph and a ground snow load of 25 lbs.

Once known as both Mineral City and Three Forks, the Big Stone Gap community is a part of south-western Virginia’s Wise County. It lies about 79 miles outside Richlands and 12 miles from Norton.
