Steel Building in Big Water, Utah
Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building in Big Water, Utah in December of 2020.
Durable, low maintenance and highly energy efficient, the building now undergoes use as a workshop and is 50’x60’x22’ when raised. It has a broad clear span that maximizes usable floor space, and high ceilings enhance versatility and accommodate car lifts or other large equipment.
Spacious and bright inside, the steel shop offers unmatched strength and durability thanks to top-of-the-line steel construction. Overhead, a rugged, hardwearing gable slope steel roof provides protection from the Utah elements. (6) framed door openings serve as additional features, allowing easy access inside the shop.
A high-performance insulation package is another customization, and it keeps energy bills low for the property owner and interior temperatures comfortable and consistent, regardless of outside temperatures. The roof of the metal shop has 6” of insulation, while the walls contain a 4” layer of insulation. Both the roof and wall insulation have heavy-duty WMP-VRR facing applied to one side, which helps protect the insulation blankets against moisture and damage.
Other noteworthy customizations include (21) eve light panels and gutters and downspouts, which prevent water damage by diverting rain or snow away from the building’s roof and foundation. A 115-mph wind speed rating and a 20-psf snow load are additional features that keep the shop in compliance with local building and engineering code requirements.
