Steel Shop Building in Blackfoot, Idaho
Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel shop building for a client in Blackfoot, Idaho, in March of 2018.
Rugged, low maintenance and exceedingly energy efficient, the building now functions as a shop, providing a safe, secure work environment for building users. Ash Gray in color, it stands 40’x60’x16’ in size following a quick erection process, while a Galvalume metal roof with a 2:12 pitch protects the interior of the shop from overhead.
A high-performance insulation package helps shop users stay comfortable despite Idaho’s sometimes-extreme temperatures and climate patterns, and it also helps keep the building’s energy bills low. In its roof, it features R-30 insulation, while R-25 insulation sits within the steel building’s walls.
Additional accommodations include (11) framed openings varying in terms of size and purpose, among them (2) 14’x14’ openings, (3) 3070 walk door openings and (6) 4020 windows that allow natural sunlight to filter in. The building also boasts a 115-mph wind load and a high, 58-pound snow load in consideration of the weather patterns commonly seen in and around Blackfoot.
Affectionately referred to as the “Potato Capital of the World,” Blackfoot falls within eastern Idaho’s Bingham County. The city lies about 28 miles southwest of Idaho Falls and roughly 26 miles north of Pocatello.
