Metal Building in Hilo, Hawaii
Metal Building Outlet sourced this prefabricated metal building for a customer in Hilo, Hawaii, in October of 2020.
Featuring rugged, quality steel construction, the building currently functions as a shelter, giving users a covered escape from Hilo’s wet climate and considerable rainfall. When raised, the steel structure is 100’x100’x35’ in size, boasting high overhead clearance and a broad clear span that eliminates the need for interior supports.
The metal shelter’s roof is comprised of heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant Galvalume steel paneling and has a slight 2:12 pitch, providing a solid, reliable layer of protection from the sometimes-relentless rain this side of the Big Island receives. A 105-mph wind speed rating is another climate-related feature that keeps the steel shelter compliant with building and engineering code requirements in place across Hilo.
