Metal Building Outlet secured this prefabricated steel shop building for a customer in Lake George, Colorado, in late April of 2019.
Versatile, attractive and easy to maintain, the building is comprised of heavy-duty, premium-quality steel components, and it now functions as a shop. Once raised, it boasts a finished size of 44’x24’x12’, and it features a clear-span interior that frees up more space to work by eliminating interior trusses and obstructions.
The steel shop features a striking, Copper-colored exterior and a complementing Evergreen-colored roof with a 4:12 pitch, while (4) framed openings serve as additional shop customizations. Included are (3) 8’x10’ openings enclosing (3) 8’x10’ doors and (1) 3070 walk door opening. Because the Lake George area often sees considerable seasonal snowfall, there are stringent building codes governing construction in the area, and the shop features a 115-mph wind speed rating and a high, 120-pound snow load in order to accommodate them.
Situated a few miles north of the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, the unincorporated community of Lake George falls within Colorado’s Park County. The community lies roughly 40 miles northwest of Colorado Springs and about 13 miles from Divide.
