Workshop Building in Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel workshop building for a customer in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, in April of 2019.
Rugged, durable and exceedingly energy efficient, the building now serves as a workshop and stands an expansive 60’x120’x19’ in size. Comprised of premium-quality steel components, it offers the structural integrity life in the Colorado mountains requires, and a hardwearing, heavy-duty Galvalume roof with a 4:12 pitch sits overhead, protecting the interior of the shop from the elements.
The metal shop boasts an attractive, Light Stone-colored exterior that blends well with the surrounding mountain landscape, and distributed throughout it are (8) framed openings. These include (3) 16’x16’ openings enclosing (3) 16’x16’ doors, (4) 3070 walk door openings enclosing (4) 3070 walk doors, and (1) 12’xq10’ opening containing (1) 12’x10’ overhead door.
A high-performance insulation package further equips the building for the sometimes-extreme temperatures and variable climate patterns that come with life in a mountain town, and it includes R-38 insulation in the roof and R-30 insulation in the walls. In addition to keeping energy bills manageable and building users comfortable, regardless of outside temperatures, the insulation helps muffle outside noise, creating a more favorable work environment inside.
Additional features added with regard for the variable climate characteristics of the region and the strict building codes in place in the area include a high, 60-pound snow and a 115-mph wind speed rating. A popular resort community set within western Colorado’s Garfield County, Glenwood Springs sit about 40 miles outside Aspen and about 13 miles northwest of Carbondale.
