Insulated Cold-Formed Steel Shop in Durango, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet supplied this cold-formed steel building for a client in Durango, Colorado, in January 2023.

Because the buyer opted for cold-formed steel, the sunny, spacious steel building took shape much faster than it would otherwise, and it also took less time and money to ship the building to the jobsite. Now functioning as a shop, the metal building has customizations throughout ranging from (2) 3030 windows and 2’ overhangs that create covered outdoor space along all four walls to an insulation package lining the roof and walls.

The roof of the metal shop features 6” of R-19 insulation, while the walls hold 4” of R-13 insulation with VRR+ vinyl facing. The insulation package helps the inside of the building maintain comfortable temperatures regardless of season, and it also leads to lower heating and cooling bills for the owner.
