Metal Buildings in Diamond, Illinois
Metal Building Outlet supplied these metal buildings in Diamond, Illinois in April of 2019.
The pre-engineered steel building and accompanying lean-to, now functioni as an indoor trap-shooting facility, where participants practice one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay shooting, the insulated, energy-efficient buildings feature numerous customizations ranging from a hidden fastener wall panel to a suspended ceiling and sprinkler system and create a secure, all-season space for shooters to recreate and relax.
Steel Shooting Facility Specs & Features
Comprised of ultra-durable, high-quality steel components, the Koko Brown-colored main metal building with Evergreen trim houses the shooting rage and is 200’x300’x35’, with high overhead clearance. It has (2) main shooting pits, allowing for one person on each side to shoot at a time, and a custom, hidden fastener 24-gauge shadow rib wall panel.
The attached, prefabricated steel lean-to stands 47’x200’x26’/14’ and houses a restaurant and lounge area, and a sound-suppression system serves as an additional feature, eliminating noise from the shooting range. The metal lean-to boasts a reversed rolled R-panel on the walls, which supports custom log paneling installed over the top of it. Also, the lean-to building features an upgraded, 10-pound collateral load limit as opposed to a traditional 3-pound load limit so that it can support a suspended ceiling and sprinkler system.
Overhead, both the main metal building and the attached steel lean-to feature rugged, 24-gauge Evergreen-colored roofs. The main building’s roof has a gable design and a modest 1:12 pitch, while the lean-to’s roof sports a single-slope design and a 3:12 pitch.
Doors, Windows & Insulation
Distributed between the (2) metal buildings of the indoor shooting range are (18) framed door and window openings in an array of different sizes. There are (8) 6’x8’ window openings, (6) 3070 door openings housing (6) 3070 commercial walk doors with lever locks and (1) 10’x12’ overhead door opening. Also included are (3) 3’x8’ window openings and (1) 6’x12’ door opening for a glass door.
A high-performance insulation package ensures that the steel shooting facility is comfortable and appropriate for use throughout all four seasons while keeping energy expenses low. In the roofs of the buildings are high R-value, R-38 Energy Saver insulation systems. The walls of the buildings contain R-30 Energy Saver insulation systems.
Other notable enhancements and customizations include Evergreen-colored gutters and downspouts, which help prevent condensation and related damage, and a spandrel beam along the main building’s right end wall, which imparts additional strength to the sides of the structure. A 115-mph wind speed rating and a 20-pound roof snow load are additional customizations made in line with the building and engineering code requirements currently in place in and around Diamond.
