Steel Farm Storage Building in Farmington, Connecticut
Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel storage building for a customer in Farmington, Connecticut, in April of 2019.
Offering uncompromised strength and durability, the reliable, energy-efficient metal building is comprised of rugged, high-end steel components, and it now functions as a mini storage center. Once fully erect, it stands 30’x130’x14’ in size, while a heavy-duty roof comprised of Galvalume metal panels sits overhead, offering a 0.5:12 pitch.
Within the roof of the self-storage building is R-19 insulation, while R-13 insulation sits within the walls. The insulation package helps stored goods maintain consistent temperatures, and it also reduces energy bills associated with the storage business. Other accommodations and customizations made out of respect for local climate characteristics and building codes include a wind speed rating of 115 mph and a snow load of 20 pounds.
Situated within central Connecticut’s Farmington Valley, the town of Farmington falls within Hartford County. The community sits about 10 miles west of Hartford and about two hours, by car, from Boston, Massachusetts.
