Batting Cage Building in Forrest, Virginia
Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel building for a buyer in Forrest, Virginia, in March of 2016.
Now a batting cage for the students of Jefferson Forrest High School, the energy efficient and low-maintenance metal building is crafted from top-quality steel, and it stands 40’x80’x15’ in size. Protecting it overhead is a rugged and hardwearing Galvalume metal roof with a 4:12 roof pitch, and inside the batting cage are (4) framed openings. These include (1) 10’x10’ opening housing (1) 10’x10’ overhead door and (3) 3070 doorframes housing (3) 3070 commercial walk doors.
To reduce energy costs and keep the interior of the building comfortable regardless of season, an insulation package is included in this project. Installed in the roof is R-19 metal building insulation, while R-13 insulation can be found in the walls. The cage also features a snow load of 25 lbs. and a wind speed of 115 mph, decisions that were made to enhance durability with respect for the weather and climate patterns typical of the Forrest area.
A census-designated place set within central Virginia’s Bedford County, Forrest is located about 29 miles outside Montvale and about 12 miles from Lynchburg.
