Airplane Hangar in Helena, Montana
Metal Building Outlet provided this pre-engineered metal Airplane Hangar for a customer in Helena, Montana, in early October of 2016.
Attractive and energy efficient, the building is light stone in color and crafted from high-end steel materials. Now used as a private airplane hangar, it stands 20’x50’x16.5’ in size and is covered and protected from above by a complementing, Aztec blue metal roof with a 1:12 pitch. Inside the airplane hangar are (5) framed openings varying in size, among them (1) 14’x14’ opening, (1) 3070 opening and (3) 6020 doors.
This building also features an insulation package. Installed in the roof and walls is R-13 metal building insulation, which reduces energy bills associated with the structure while enhancing overall interior comfort and noise control. In consideration of the mountainous location of Helena and the sometimes-considerable precipitation that comes through the area, the hangar also features a snow load of 30 lbs. and a wind speed rating of 115 mph. The capital of Montana, the city of Helena is a part of Lewis and Clark County, in the west-central part of the state. The city sits about 91 miles from Great Falls and about 68 miles outside Butte.
