The steel shop is easily accessible, offering (17) framed openings ranging in size. Found throughout the space are (8) 3’x4’ openings, (2) 3070 openings equipped with (2) 3070 walk doors, (1) 12’x10’ opening housing (1) 12’x10’ door, (2) 16’x8’ openings harboring (2) 16’x8’ doors, and, finally, (4) 12’x14’ framed openings, each enclosing one of (4) 12’x14’ doors.

A high-performance insulation package keeps the workshop comfortable inside, regardless of outside temperatures, and it also lowers the building’s lifelong energy expenses. In the roof, it has a layer of R-30 insulation, while the walls contain R-13 insulation. The metal shop has a number of other customizations that make it compliant with building codes and regulations in place in Hermosa, among them a 40-pound snow load and a 120-mph wind speed rating.
