Metal Building in Hesperus, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet was the supplier of this pre-engineered metal building in Hesperus, Colorado.
Now serving as an equestrian arena for HD Ranch, a provider of riding lessons, horse boarding and training services, the rugged, energy-efficient metal arena features a clear-span design that is largely free from instructions and stands 94’x125’x25’ in size. Overhead, a Galvalume metal roof with a 1.5:12 pitch protects the interior of the riding arena, while (3) framed openings serve as additional characteristics. Included are (2) 14’x14’ framed openings, each equipped with one of (2) 14’x14’ metal doors, and (1) 3070 opening enclosing (1) 3070 walk door.
A high-performing insulation package helps regulate interior temperatures, keeping horses and riders comfortable at all times of the year. In its roof, the arena offers R-19 insulation, while R-13 insulation sits within the building’s walls, reducing energy bills and improving noise control.
In consideration of the typical climate and the sometimes-heavy seasonal snowfall that comes through Hesperus, a high, 60-pound snow load and a 90-mph wind speed rating serve as additional features. An unincorporated community set within southwestern Colorado’s La Plata County, Hesperus is located a short distance from the resort community of Durango and the Hesperus Ski Area. It sits about 11 miles from Durango and about 34 miles outside Ignacio.
