Prefabricated Steel Garages in Ignacio, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet supplied these (2) prefabricated steel garages for a customer in Ignacio, Colorado, in late August of 2016.
Low maintenance and energy efficient, the buildings together serve as a large garage. Crafted from premium-grade steel components, the first building stands 30’x40’x12’ and is fern green in color, while the second building stands 30’x40’x10’ in size and is desert sand in color. While both buildings are covered and protected from above by hardwearing Galvalume metal roofs, the roof of the first building has a 4:12 pitch, while the second building’s roof has a 3:12 pitch.
Distributed between the two structures are (4) framed openings varying in size and function, among them (1) 10’x12’ opening, (1) 16’x8’ opening and (2) 3070 openings enclosing (2) 3070 20-gauge knock-down doors. Additionally, both buildings have R-10 insulation installed within their roofs and walls, which helps keep energy costs low while keeping building users comfortable inside regardless of season. A snow load of 50 lbs. and a wind speed of 115 mph are included as additional features in an effort to enhance overall durability given the sometimes cold, variable climate of the region.
A statutory town in Southwestern Colorado’s La Plata County, Ignacio is adjacent to the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. The town sits about 50 miles outside Pagosa Springs and 24 miles outside Durango.
