Insulated Pre-Engineered Metal Shop in Hesperus, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet sourced this prefabricated steel shop building for a client in Hesperus, Colorado, in February 2024.

Situated in the scenic San Juan Mountains, Hesperus sees heavy annual snowfall, and the buyer needed a rugged, watertight building that could meet the demands of the area’s harsh winter conditions. Comprised of rugged, long-lasting steel parts, this shop has a wide clear span that eliminates interior columns or supports, thereby maximizing space for vehicles, storage or other needs.

An insulation package keeps the shop building comfortable and appropriate for use during all four seasons. In the roof, the shop has 6” of fiberglass insulation, while the walls hold 4” of insulation with heavy-duty WMP-VRR+ facing serving as a protective cover over the blankets. The building also has plenty of natural light thanks to the addition of three 3030 windows.

In addition to the metal building kit, itself, Metal Building Outlet also supplied the client with a Colorado engineer-stamped foundation plan. This detailed plan accounts for the area’s specific climate and soil conditions, paving the way for a stable, secure building foundation.
