Prefabricated Metal Agricultural Building in Oakley, Kansas
Metal Building Outlet sourced this pre-engineered steel agricultural building for a client in Oakley, Kansas, sending the building kit to the erection site in July 2024.
Designed to support the client’s farming or growing operations, the agricultural building boasts a wide clear span and has steel partitions separating the interior into areas designated for storage, work and other use. Light Stone exterior paint and Burnished Slate trim give the metal farm building nice street appeal, while high-performance insulation systems in the roof and walls keep interior temperatures consistent regardless of the temperatures or weather outside.
The roof of the farm building contains a double-layer, R-35 insulation system, while the walls hold a single layer of R-25 fiberglass insulation. Adequate ventilation was another priority, and Metal Building Outlet designed the building to feature a 4’x4’ louver fan to enhance circulation and allow the building to maintain ideal growing conditions inside.
Gutters and downspouts installed along both side walls channel water away from the building’s roof, walls and foundation, helping preserve structural integrity, and the structure also sits atop a 3’6” stem wall, enhancing overall stability while protecting against potential flooding. Durable, versatile and engineered to last the long haul, this building will support and enhance the owner’s storage capabilities and agricultural operations for years to come.
