Steel Barndominium in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered metal barndominium in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in November 2022.
Dubbed a “barndominium” because it merges residential space with another type of usable space, this metal home and shop has ample curb appeal thanks to a Saddle Tan exterior and Fern Green architectural trim. Its roof is comprised of heavy-duty Galvalume Plus steel paneling and features gutters and downspouts on its front and back side walls, which help prevent condensation.
An insulation package keeps energy bills reasonable and interior temperatures comfortable, regardless of time of year. In the roof and walls of the steel barndominium are 6” layers of R-19 fiberglass insulation with WMP-VRR+ facing material covering the blankets. Metal Building Outlet also supplied an engineer-stamped foundation plan when delivering the building components.
