Metal Building in Walsenburg, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal building in Walsenburg, Colorado, in late September 2022.
The metal building now functions as a barn, and while it is comprised of durable, damage-resistant steel parts, it has the same exterior appeal as a traditional wooden barn. Standing 36’x40’x14’ in size, the steel barn also has an accompanying 10’x40’x14’/11’6” metal lean-to that creates covered outdoor space the owner can utilize.
The main metal barn and attached lean-to both have painted steel roofs with 3:12 pitches, although the main steel barn building has a gable roof and the lean-to, a single-slope roof. There are also (5) framed door openings offering access inside the metal farm building, which include (1) 3’4”x7’2” walk door opening, (4) 4’x7’4” barn door openings, and (1) 12’x14’ overhead door opening.
Other customizations include a 2’ overhang along three sides and several climate-related accommodations, including a 36-psf roof snow load and a 115-mph wind load.
