Pre-Engineered Metal Shop in Dickerson, Maryland
Metal Building Outlet supplied this premanufactured metal shop building for a customer in Dickerson, Maryland, in early March of 2019.
Combining rugged durability with optimal energy efficiency, the building is comprised of premium-grade steel parts, and its owners currently use it as a shop. Once raised, the steel shop stands 50’x100’x16’ in size, and it boasts an unobstructed clear-span that increases usable space. A hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch sits overhead, protecting the interior of the workshop, while (6) framed openings serve as additional features. Included are (2) 14’x14’ overhead door openings and (4) 4070 walk door openings that make the metal shop easily accessible for building users.
An insulation package helps make the shop suitable for year-round use in Maryland, and it includes R-38 insulation in the shop’s roof and R-19 insulation in the walls. Additional customizations added with regard for the distinct seasonal climate characteristics of the region include a 115-mph wind speed rating and a 20-pound snow load.
Part of Maryland’s Montgomery County, Dickerson lies off of Maryland Route 28, between Sugarloaf Mountain and the Potomac River. The community sits roughly 55 miles west of Baltimore and about 34 miles northeast of Washington, D.C.
