Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated metal base building for a customer in Niles, Michigan.
Koko brown in color with a complementing light stone-colored metal roof with a 3:12 pitch, the exceedingly durable and energy-efficient building now serves as a shop building for its owner. It boasts a finished size of 40’x80’x18’ and is crafted from premium-grade steel components. Inside the structure are (4) framed openings varying in size and function, among them (2) 14’x14’ openings housing (2) 14’x14’ Model 1000 overhead sectional doors, (1) 12’x12’ opening housing (1) 12’x12’ Model 100 overhead sectional door and (1) 3070 opening enclosing (1) 3070 walk door.
An insulation package is also included as part of this project. To considerably lower energy costs associated with the building while making it more comfortable for users year-round, R-19 metal building insulation is installed in the roof, while R-13 insulation can be found within the walls. Additional building features include a wind speed of 115 mph and a high snow load of 50 lbs. These inclusions were made to enhance durability given the climate of greater Niles, which is prone to ample annual snowfall that trumps national averages.
With land in both Berrien and Cass Counties in the southeast corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, Niles sits about 65 miles outside Kalamazoo and 25 miles from St. Joseph.
