Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel shop building on behalf of a buyer in Petersburgh, Alaska, in July of 2019.
Designed to hold its own when faced with extreme weather, heavy snowfall, pests and similar construction concerns, this building is comprised of premium-grade steel parts, delivering the structural integrity Alaska life demands. Currently in use as a shop, the building boasts a finished size of 23’x18’x10’, while its roof is comprised of rugged, damage-resistant Galvalume metal panels and offers a 2:12 pitch.
Enhancing accessibility throughout the steel workshop are (5) framed openings ranging in size, among them (2) 1’x18’ openings, (1) 12’x8’ opening enclosing (1) 12’x8’’ door, (1) 4’x4’ opening and (1) 3070 walk door opening. Additional features and customizations added out of respect for building codes and Alaska’s climate characteristics include a 50-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind load.
