Prefabricated Multipurpose Metal Building in Thomaston, Maine

A solar energy company based in southern Maine needed a large, multifunctional metal building to support its operations and ordered this prefabricated steel building from Metal Building Outlet in mid-March of 2025.

Boasting 10,000 square feet of column-free interior space, the versatile, energy-efficient steel building is well-suited for storing solar panels and related products, installing or assembling solar panels for installation or otherwise using as needed. A high-performance insulation package keeps interior temperatures comfortable and consistent while allowing for the storage of temperature-sensitive items, with an R-30 long tab banded insulation system installed in the roof and an R-25 Energy Saver insulation system lining the walls.

While the insulation improves interior working conditions, it also muffles noise and guards against condensation, making it a smart and valuable addition to the building. All of the multipurpose metal building’s doors also contain insulation, helping further prevent the loss of heated or cooled air.

Other noteworthy customizations include four large windows that allow plenty of natural light inside, boosting the interior ambiance while reducing reliance on heating systems during colder months.
