Custom Prefabricated Metal Shop in Silverthorne, Colorado
A client in Silverthorne, Colorado, needed a custom metal shop building designed for the community’s variable climate and heavy winter snowfall, and Metal Building Outlet worked closely alongside him to supply a structure that met his needs.
Energy efficient and custom-designed throughout, the metal shop offers 5,000 square feet of column-free floorspace ideal for storage, work and other use. Its roof and walls feature 4” of R-13 insulation with VRR+ facing, with the facing protecting the fiberglass blankets from moisture or tears while giving the inside of the structure a professional, finished appearance.
Ash Gray walls, a Burnished Slate roof and trim and 3’ of matching wainscoting give the shop nice street appeal, and 18” overhangs along all four sides provide covered outdoor storage space while keeping rain or snow from sliding off the roof and coming in contact with the exterior walls. Decorative flying gables give the outside of the shop extra visual appeal and further channel roof runoff away from the building, while three rooftop Burnished Slate cupolas give the building a traditional, barn-like look and feel.
The building owner also wanted to ensure ample natural light inside, and this building features seven 6’x2’ windows that allow sunlight to brighten up the interior. Durable, low-maintenance and carefully designed to accommodate the buyer’s needs and wants, this fire-resistant metal shop combines practical features with thoughtful design elements, giving the property owner a safe, secure place to work or store goods during all four Colorado seasons.
