Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Richland, Washington in November of 2019.
Engineered to maximize energy efficiency, the building currently serves as a shop, creating a comfortable, year-round environment where the owner can work, store goods or otherwise use as desired. When raised, the metal shop stands an expansive 50’x150’x16’ in size, featuring high overhead clearance that enhances its overall versatility.
The roof of the shop is comprised of heavy-duty Galvalume metal panels and has a slight 1:12 pitch, and (9) framed openings ranging in size are additional notable features. Included are (3) 4’x4’ openings enclosing (3) 4’x4’ windows, (3) 3070 walk door openings harboring (3) 3070 walk doors and (3) 12’x12’ overhead door openings, each housing one of (3) 12’x12’ overhead doors.
A high-performance insulation package helps make the shop suitable for year-round use, with a layer of high R-value, R-33 fiberglass insulation sitting in its roof and a layer of R-25 insulation installed in the walls. Other key customizations added with regard for local building code requirements and the Richland area’s typical climate patterns include a 110-mph wind speed rating and a snow load of 10 pounds.
Located in southeastern Washington, the city of Richland is part of Benton County. It is one of Washington’s Tri-Cities, alongside Pasco and Kennewick.
