Metal Building Outlet supplied this preconstructed metal shop in Cortez, Colorado, in April of 2018.

Offering uncompromised strength and durability, the building stands 30’x50’x14’ in size and now functions as a workshop. Crafted from high-end steel components, it features a Saddle Tan exterior, while a Koko Brown roof with a 3:12 pitch offers protection from the Colorado elements from overhead.

The steel building offers an open, versatile clear-span design that makes for an ideal work and storage space, and (5) framed openings varying in size and function serve as additional shop characteristics, making for easy accessibility for building users. Included are (1) 16’x12’ framed opening, (1) 10’x12’ opening, (1) 3070 opening and (2) 3030 windows that allow natural sunlight inside.

Additional attributes included in consideration of the variable climate of Cortex and the surrounding landscape include a 90-mph wind load and a 35-pound snow load. Part of southwestern Colorado’s Montezuma County, the city of Cortez is home to Mesa Verde National Park. The community lies about 45 miles west of Durango and about 75 miles southwest of Telluride.
