Metal Building in Southport, North Carolina
Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated metal building for a client in Southport, North Carolina, in January of 2018.
Designed to hold its own in the face of salt, sand, moisture and other coastal hazards, the building features top-of-the-line steel construction and now serves as a shop. Light stone in color, it stands 34’x50’x16’ in size once fully erect, while a rugged, corrosion-resistant roof comprised of Galvalume metal panels sits overhead, offering a 1:12 roof pitch.
Additional accommodations include (6) framed openings ranging in size, among the (1) 20’x14’ opening, (4) 3’x10’ openings and (1) 3070 opening equipped with (1) 3070 walk door. A 10-pound snow load and a high, 140-mph wind speed rating serve as supplemental features added with regard for the building’s coastal location and the strong storm activity that sometimes comes through Southport and the surrounding region.
Part of eastern North Carolina’s Brunswick County, Southport sits along the northwest bank of the Cape Fear River. The community lies about 8 miles south of Boiling Spring Lakes and roughly 12 miles east of Oak Island.
