Prefabricated Steel Agricultural Building in Oakley, Utah
Metal Building Outlet delivered the kit for this custom steel building to Oakley, Utah, in August of 2023.
Used for agricultural purposes, the building lacks sheeting on three sides, creating a covered, open-air environment the owner can use for growing, storage or other purposes. The wall the building does have has rod bracing, rather than cable bracing, due to the seismic requirements in place in the region. The metal farm building also has a clear-span design that creates an open, unobstructed floorplan and a high snow load that complies with the area’s strict building codes.
Metal Building Outlet also included a Utah engineer-stamped foundation plan along with the steel components for this project. The foundation plan helps ensure optimal stability and a long lifespan for the building while streamlining the process of pouring the foundation.
Often used for growing or to house animals, animal feed or other agricultural supplies, pre-engineered metal farm buildings are a popular alternative to traditional wood buildings due to their affordability, easy of erection and low-maintenance nature.
