Steel Barn + Lean-Tos in Bailey, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet sent the kit for this cold-formed steel building to Bailey, Colorado, in February 2023.
Designed to look like a traditional American barn, the building features attached lean-tos and a 22’x30’ interior mezzanine that creates more usable floor space for the owner. Designed for the owner’s personal use, the metal building has a 6” layer of R-19 insulation in its roof and a 4” layer of R-13 insulation in the walls.
The insulation blankets have VRR+ facing on the side facing inward, which gives the metal barn’s interior a clean, finished look while serving as a protective cover over the fiberglass blankets. Other noteworthy customizations include (6) 6020 and (1) 4040 window, which brighten up the interior while reducing the building’s electric bills.
The building also has high wind and snow loads in accordance with local building codes, which the building owner verified before finalizing the steel barn’s design.
