Steel Shop Building in Denver, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet supplied this large-scale steel shop building in Denver, Colorado, in late March of 2015.
Now a fully operational shop for Hamon Contractors, a Denver-based paving and asphalt company, the Nucor-brand building is light stone in color and topped with a sturdy, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch. It boasts (22) framed openings of varying sizes, which include (4) 16’x16’ openings and (2) 12’x12’ openings. Smaller openings include (5) sized 3’x7’, (3) sized 4’x4’ and (8) that are 3’x10’ in size.
Additional building features include high-performing R-30 insulation in the roof and R-25 insulation in the walls to help keep the structure warm all winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. Considering the annual snowfall averages of the Denver area and the region’s typical weather and climate patterns, a ground snow load of 30 lbs. and a wind speed of 115 mph were included during construction.
Because of the building’s intended location within a flood plain, plans required approval from Adams County. The capital of Colorado, Denver sits about 25 miles outside Highlands Ranch and 23 miles from Brighton.
