Steel Building in Lewis, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building in Lewis, Colorado, in March of 2022.
Energy-efficient and easy to erect, the rugged, insulated steel building now functions as a shop and is 30’x55’x22’/12’ when raised. Overhead, a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant gable roof with a 4:12 pitch provides protection from the elements, and the shop building also has a #5 collateral load that accommodates the addition of solar panels.
The steel shop building has (2) framed door openings, which include (1) 3070 opening enclosing (1) 3070 20-gauge insulated commercial walk door with a lever lock and (1) 12’x12’ overhead door opening. Additional customizations include 4’ of wainscoting along all walls and an insulation package that includes 6” of R-19 insulation for the roof and 4” of R-13 insulation for the walls. The insulation blankets all have heavy-duty WMP-VRR+ facing adhered to the inward-facing side, protecting them from moisture and damage while giving the shop’s interior a clean, polished appearance.
A 45-psf snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating are additional features added with regard for local building and engineering codes.
