Prefabricated Steel Equestrian Arena in Laramie, Wyoming
Metal Building Outlet supplied the materials for this massive pre-engineered metal riding arena in Laramie, Wyoming, sending the building kit to the erection site in February 2024.
Offering 27,000 square feet of climate-controlled interior space custom-designed to accommodate the buyer’s needs and wants, the steel equestrian arena provides ample space for training, riding, showing and housing horses and features thoughtful design elements inside and out. High ceilings make the building well-suited for various equestrian disciplines, while transverse and longitudinal transitions create separate spaces inside that can accommodate various riding activities.
The metal arena has 4” of R-13 fiberglass insulation lining its roof and walls, keeping horses and riders comfortable and safe regardless of outside temperatures. A 45’x50’ section of the interior features additional insulation and a liner panel that protects the insulation blankets from condensation and damage. The liner panel also gives the inside of that room a clean, finished look and feel, making it ideal for use as an office or administrative area.
Other noteworthy steel arena customizations include two large 4030 windows and several light band along the eaves that allow plenty of natural light inside, warming up the space during colder stretches while reducing the owner’s reliance on artificial heating systems. The metal riding arena also features gutters and downspouts along it roof that protect the foundation and outside walls by channeling rain and snow away from the structure. Heavy wind and snow loads further equip the arena for life in Wyoming, maximizing both durability and structural integrity.
