Steel Equestrian Arena in Steamboat Springs, Colorado
A client in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, needed a custom steel horse arena that could accommodate heavy snow loads and purchased this Metal Building Outlet equestrian building in late June of 2023.
The client needed the building quickly, so Metal Building Outlet expedited production on this agricultural and equestrian building to meet her needs. The end result is an eye-catching, all-season steel building equestrian enthusiasts can use year-round in Colorado, regardless of outside temperatures or climate conditions.
The building features an open, unobstructed interior and high ceilings that free up plenty of space for riding, and overhead, a steel gable roof with a 3:12 pitch provides reliable protection from the Colorado elements. Installed in the roof is a 6” layer of R-19 insulation, which enhances the riding arena’s energy efficiency.
The steel arena has upgrades and customizations throughout, among them 2’ overhangs on all four sides, (10) standard ridge vents in the roof that improve ventilation, and 5’ continuous light panels along the eve of the building’s back side wall. The arena also complies with the strict building codes in place in the area and boasts a heavy, 65-pound roof snow load.
