Steel Hangar Building in Caldwell, Idaho

Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel hangar building in Caldwell, Idaho, in January of 2021.

Now used as an airplane hangar, among other purposes it serves, the metal building offers optimal strength and durability, standing 90’x100’x28.5’/21’ once erect. It has a clear span that easily accommodates wide aircraft, and it also has high overhead clearance, enhancing functionality even further.

Overhead, the metal hangar features a durable, corrosion-resistant single-slope roof with a modest 1:12 pitch, and (15) framed door and window openings in a variety of sizes serve as additional building features. Distributed throughout the steel hangar are (1) 60’x18’ hangar door opening, (5) 6020 window openings, (6) 12’x14’ overhead door openings, (4) of which enclose 12’x14’ overhead doors, and (3) 3070 walk door openings holding (3) 20-gauge fire-rated 3070 commercial walk doors.

Additional hangar customizations include 18” overhangs along all walls and several climate-related enhancements that keep it compliant with local building codes, including a 25-psf snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating.
