Prefabricated Steel Shop Building in Sandia Park, New Mexico
A resident of Sandia Park, New Mexico, wanted a spacious, well-lit space to use year-round for storage, work, hobbies and more and purchased this prefabricated steel shop building from Metal Building Outlet in February 2024.
Custom-designed with the owner’s needs and the climate characteristics of the area in mind, the metal shop building offers 2,250 square feet of flexible, column-free floorspace and high ceilings that boost versatility even further. Eye-catching and energy efficient, the steel shop has painted walls and 4” of R-13 insulation with heavy-duty VRR+ facing in its walls and roof, keeping energy expenses low and building users comfortable, regardless of temperature or time of year.
The roof of the shop features 3’ translucent panels, which allow natural light inside to brighten up the space while lowering the owner’s heating costs during colder months. Other noteworthy metal building customizations include four door openings in several sizes and sculptured gutters and downspouts along both sidewalls, which help prevent moisture from collecting on top of the roof and potentially compromising the building’s structural integrity.
Economical, low-maintenance and structurally sound, this custom steel shop building effectively meets the owner’s needs, functioning as a safe, all-season space that can serve any number of different purposes throughout the year.
