Metal Buildings in Summerdale, Alabama
Metal Building Outlet supplied these (2) pre-engineered metal buildings in Summerdale, Alabama, in May of 2022.
The (2) metal buildings, which attach to one another, together serve as a “barndominium,” which is a term for structures that combine residential space with another type of usable space, such as a shop or work area. The first part of the barndominium, Building A, is 40’x60’x16’ in size, while the second, Building B, stands 15’x8’x10’. Both insulated, energy-efficient steel buildings have open, clear spans, and both also have attractive, Cool White exteriors with Black architectural trim.
Overhead, both steel residential buildings feature corrosion-resistant Galvalume gable roofs, although the first building’s roof has a 3:12 roof pitch, and the second, a 5:12 pitch. They also have (11) framed door and window openings distributed between them.
Found throughout the residential property are (1) 12’x14’ opening holding (1) Light Stone 12’x14’ wind-rated roll-up canister door with a chain hoist, (1) 10’x8’ opening holding (1) 10’x8’ Light Stone-colored wind-rated roll-up canister door with a chain hoist and (1) 6’x7’ framed door opening. Also included are (2) 3’x7’ framed openings, (1) 6’x5’ framed door opening and (5) 3’x5’ window openings that let natural light inside.
An insulation package is another notable customization, with 3 ¼” of fiberglass insulation installed in the buildings’ roofs and walls. The metal barndominium buildings also feature high, 156-mph wind loads in consideration of Summerdale’s building code requirements and location within a high-risk hurricane zone.
