Steel Building in Sweeny, Texas
Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Sweeny, Texas, in February of 2020.
Engineered for use as a workshop, the insulated, energy-efficient metal building features top-quality steel construction and is 20’x40’x18’ when raised. It has high overhead clearance that frees up room for automotive lifts or other equipment, and it also has (1) 5’x20’ freestanding awning that creates additional covered usable space.
The roof of the building is comprised of rugged, water-resistant Galvalume steel paneling and has a slight 1:12 pitch, and it has a layer of R-13 insulation installed within it, which keeps energy expenses reasonable. The metal shop also has a layer of R-13 insulation in the walls, with the insulation package creating a more comfortable year-round environment for building users.
In consideration of the strong wind and storm activity that sometimes comes through the region, the metal workshop also features a high, 155-mph wind speed rating. Part of Brazoria County, the city of Sweeny sits about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and about 25 miles southwest of Angleton.
