Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel airplane hangar in Durango, Colorado. Now serving as a personal aircraft hangar, the steel building is highly customized and offers unsurpassed structural integrity, helping protect planes or helicopters kept inside while preserving their value.
Metal Building Outlet sourced this preconstructed steel aircraft hangar for a customer in Twin Buttes, North Dakota, in May of 2019.
Now in use as an aircraft hangar, the metal building features rugged, reliable steel construction, resulting in unparalleled protection for stored planes and helicopters. Once erect, the steel hangar stands 50’x70’x20’ in size, and it features a wide clear-span so it can easily accommodate aircraft in a range of different sizes.
Ash Gray in color, the metal hangar features (5) framed openings throughout, and these include (1) 40’x16’ opening, (2) 3070 walk door openings and (2) 14’x16’ overhead openings. Overhead, a damage- and corrosion-resistant roof made from Galvalume panels offers premium protection from the elements while boasting a 2:12 roof pitch. Other accommodations added with regard for North Dakota’s variable climate and the building codes currently in place across the region include a 43-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating.
A small, unincorporated community in west-central North Dakota, Twin Buttes falls within the borders of Dunn County. The area sits about 12 miles outside Halliday and about 21 miles outside Werner.

Metal Building Outlet sourced this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Byers, Colorado, in late September of 2017.
Durable and spacious, thanks to a clear-span design and a lack of interior obstructions, the building now serves as an airplane hangar. Crafted from premium-grade steel components, the energy-efficient hangar offers a finished size of 70’x60’x18’, while a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 2:12 pitch sits overhead.
To ensure interior comfort and minimal energy bills, the hangar features an insulation package. It has R-13 insulation installed within its roof and walls, which also enhances sound control. The hangar also features (10) framed openings varying in terms of size and purpose, and these include (1) 62’x16’6” opening, (2) 3070 openings, (6) 4030 windows and (1) 14’x14’ framed opening.
Because the Byers area is prone to variable wind patterns and sometimes-heavy wintertime snowfall, a 30-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating serve as additional hangar characteristics. A census-designated area that falls within north-central Colorado’s Arapahoe County, Byers lies about 27 miles from Aurora and about 49 miles outside Centennial.
