Steel Building in Portage, Indiana

Metal Building Outlet supplied this steel building in Portage, Indiana in January, 2014.  Located in Portage Township, Porter County. Which is about 10 miles from Gary and about 60 miles from South Bend.

This building is designed to attach to an existing metal building. The building is in extreme northwestern Indiana and due to building codes based on climate an unusually high snow load was required.  Our professional service team was able to assist the owner by working with the local building office to make sure that the specs for this building are up to code and can handle up to 2’ snow drifts.  This was accomplished by upgrading the purlin gauge flange bracing.

The completed size of the building is 25’x50’x18’ and the exterior walls are brick read.  The galvalume roof has a 1:12 pitch and all components are Garco. The building also has a wind speed rating of 90 MPH.
