Steel Building in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina
Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel building in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, in early February of 2015.
Now used as a shop by Holy City Farms, a locally based tomato grower and supplier, the steel building stands 32’x50’x10’ in size and is covered overhead by a durable, corrosion-resistant galvalume roof with a 4:12 pitch. Inside the building are (11) framed openings, which include (1) 6070 door, (2) 3070 walk doors and (8) 3040 windows to maximize natural sunlight inside.
The shop building has R-32 insulation in the roof and R-25 insulation in the walls, which substantially reduces energy expenditures while helping keep interior temperatures comfortable and consistent throughout the year. With respect to the building’s island location and the typical climate patterns of the area, the building is engineered with a very high wind speed of 150 mph and a snow load of 5 lbs.
Wadmalaw Island sits southwest of Johns Island and is a part of Charleston County, South Carolina. It sits about 20 miles outside the City of Charleston and 26 miles from Mt. Pleasant.
